The mintiest, freshest rifle in the whole god-damn corps.
The fourth-generation M12 Infantry Combat Rifle, developed by the Greyson Arms Corporation in cooperation with MacMillan Advanced Propellants, is the culmination of years of planning and combat testing to bring the most effective light-rifle possible.
Firing the 7.5x55mm USIRA high velocity cartridge, it uses a multi-segment recoil suppression system, relatively low rate of fire, muzzle compensator, and an active counterweight system to bring the extreme kick of the 7.5 round to controllable levels with precision unmatched by any other standard battle rifle.
Using a bullpup layout with a full-length rifle barrel and high-V round allows it to be used in combat across the spectrum, from extreme range mountain warfare, to dense urban combat with the penetration power to circumvent most cover.
Early concepts suggested the use of a forward ejection system, those who agreed that was a good idea were demoted and beaten up in the parking lot of the Greyson Arms' Kentucky manufacturing plant. Those who suggested using a less powerful round were demoted, sent the Izhevsk Mechanical Plant, fired, beaten up in the parking lot, and had their passports stolen. No one has heard from them in the last fifteen years. This shows the success of Greyson's internal management procedures.
The controls are fully ambidextrous, excluding the fire selector, which must be switched around, a simple task that doesn't require tools. The ejection side can be switched by flipping the bolt and first section of the buffer system and swapping the port the cover/cheekrest is over.
A selection of three primary loads allows the user to tailor their setup for whatever their warzone may hold. The 7N41 Armor Piercing Incendiary is round suitable for most engagements when whatever is behind the target is of no consequence or value. The 7N42 lightweight match-grade round allows for engagements at ranges rivaling that of most marksman rifles, while the tungsten penetrator core and air-pocket tip ensure the target gets the idea no matter the range. The 7N44 is designed for engagements of less than 400m, using a heavy semi-jacketed steel core made to yaw violently and shear off its copper jacket in soft tissue, for when the enemy needs to know you mean business.
It is seen here fitted with the ППБО-14 gunsight, AN/PEQ-33 LAM, and tactical mints in a flashlight mount.

In other news, BronyCon was awesome, got some nice swag and got my badge signed by Tsitra360, and got the keychain seen on the hand shield. *It turns out the keychain is just as sharp as it looks on welovefine, my fingers are rather torn up now...
