Description
Since 'errybody's been up on the modernized 1911 bandwagon and I've been meaning to do this for months I might as well go for it. On top of that is the depressing deviation from the original the "modernized" ones have been doing lately, needed a proper one thrown in there.
For the low-low price of free you could have your very own request done. Just note with a detailed description, sketch, or link to a weapon that needs shoopin'. No real or preset weapons. The more interesting and realistic the better.
This version (a hybrid of an M1911A4 and A5) of the classic M1911 platform is chambered in .40/30 AutoMag +P[10.3x30mm] OHC (Offensive Handgun Cartridge, an overpressure version of the M40's round) or, of course .45 ACP +P, loading via double-stack magazine. It is fitted with a match grade polygonal barrel, Light Double Action trigger, and tritium/fiber optic iron sights. Integrated features also include a light rail mount, ambidextrous safety, and enhanced recoil springs.
Marine MEB(SOC) and MSFT "misfits" personnel can request the M1911A4/5 as an alternative to the standard MK-25 Mod1 10mm handgun. It is not uncommon to find Grayson slides with patent marking dating from April 20th 1897 to January 5th 2285. While the 10.3mm OHC round has a negligibly larger diameter to the 10mm APC, it user a much heavier bullet and half again higher operating pressure. For the most part, the weapon is used only as a display item and status symbol and, on rare occasion, to preform the Corps' dirtier business. In combat the -A4/5 has served rather well despite its strong recoil, which, even with civilian loads, is compared to that of large bore magnums commonly associated with heavy frame revolvers.
100% GIMP 2.8 default brushes, no outside resources. Sorta a WiP, cranked out a little too quickly because of dieing computer, I may fix it up at some point.
As a personal note, I'd never trust my life with anything under 10mm+P, only exceptions being .357Magnum (ideally +P).
